It's finally here! Tomorrow we catch our 21 hour flight to Cape Town, South Africa! Wahoo! We are so excited...who knows if we'll even be able to sleep tonight! AHHH! We are going to try and update this blog as often as possible to keep all of you updated on our adventures while in South Africa!!
Here's a little background about what we will be doing while in Africa....
Natalie and I have been accepted into Child Family Health International's (CFHI) Healthcare Challenges in South Africa Program. CFHI is a non-profit organization whose primary purpose is to introduce nursing and medical students to issues surrounding healthcare in developing countries. During our 4 week program we will be working alongside nurses in the hospitals of Cape Town and surrounding suburbs to get a better understanding of the healthcare challenges that face South Africa. We will also be living with a home-stay family...so we will have quite the cultural experience!! This is a once in a lifetime experience and we are so so so excited to begin this adventure!
